Next iPhone will be 4S

It’s been confirmed that tomorrow (Tuesday 4th October) the iPhone 4S will be released, Apple confirmed it but they didn’t do it on purpose! Recently they released their iTunes betas and in it is a reference for the iPhone 4S. It will be released in the US but I’m not sure whether it will be released in Ireland at the same time or not. Probably not. We’re gonna have to wait for another week or two I’d say! As you can see from the picture the screen is slightly wider and the antenna is rounded instead of square. So much for a redesign.

Windows Phone 7.5

Windows has relesed an update for their mobile operating system. The new updat called Windows Phone 7.5 or ‘Mango’ will have more then 500 features which people have been missing out on since it came out. The Windows mobile OS didn’t really start off as the best, it was missing a lot of essential features and just lacked what was needed to impress a lot of people. But none the less people did see the potential in it and despite it’s flaws continued to buy Windows Phone based mobile phones. I bet there glad now as the OS is growing ever more popular as people want to bring there computer with them wherever they go and when Windows 8 is released (Get the pre-beta) people will have no difficulty with going from a desktop to a mobile phone as Windows 8 and ‘Mango’ look close to the exact same!

Windows 8 has been in the developer or pre-beta stage for a while now and if you’re still wondering how to get it you can get it here.

If you are actually a developer and want to create programs for Windows 8 then obviously download the first option which includes the developer tools. This is only available for x64 (64-bit) computers.

If you are just interested in seeing what the look and feel of it will be and just want to try it out then just download the developer preview in either x32 or x64, whichever suits your computer. If you don’t know which you computer is then don’t even try to install it!

I would adviseeither installing it in a virtual machine or as a partition instead of installing it over your main operating system as not all drivers are available and not all programs will work either. Just install it as a partition, try it out for a while and see what you think. If you have any feedback you should contact Microsoft as they want to base Windows 8 around you so you could make some real changes in it.

iOS 5

Just after putting up the possible release date of the next iPhone (14.10.2011) I now have also heard rumours that the long-awaited iOS 5 is going to be released two days before, on Wednesday the 12th of October.

Apple has denied requests of time off from employees for the second week of October. Could this be because they are expecting a jump in customers in that week? Maybe the release of a new sought after product like the iPhone 5? Just an idea!

PS Vita Finally Announced

There’s been more than enough rumours about PlayStation’s new console and what it’s going to be like but finally we know exactly what it is. The new PS Vita has more than enough technology for everybody out there.

The PS Vita is said to be more powerful than any other portable consoles and it’s also said it is more powerful than the PlayStation 3. It will have technology that none of the previous PlayStation mobile consoles had such as; A front facing camera, multi-touch OLED display, Dual Analog controls, WiFi, 3G and GPS.

It will also have; A rear touch pad, Rear facing camera, Sixaxis motion control and better shoulder buttons. It will also be much more comfortable in the hand it is slightly thicker than expected but despite that it is still a very light console.

I personally wouldn’t like to use the rear touch pad as it seems as it would just be a bit awkward to use and there is already enough input methods, the buttons, the analog joysticks, Sixaxis control, two cameras, shoulder pads, multi-touch display and then on top of all of that there is also going to be the rear touchpad. I’ll be interested to see what games actually use the rear touchpad for input.

Yet Another Xperia

Sony Ericsson has released yet another Xperia phone the latest one is called the Neo V it is to have Google Android 2.3.4 which has features like Google Talk with video chat for phones with a camera on the front. The graphics on this phone are said to be fantastic and the GUI is said to have great 3D abilities. It will have some of the favoured features of other phones like Swype, its like predictive text except you start at the first letter of a word and drag your finger over all the following letters and when you release it will give the word in text. It will have a powerful 1GHz Snapdragon processor there are more powerful mobile processors out there but it is still lightning fast. It will come with a 2GB memory card, they could have been more generous but it will do. The camera quality on the phone is said to be amazing and it has HD video recording. I’d love to have a go off this phone.
